The Rub Steak Tenderloin

Honestly, the best steak for entertaining.

Hi! I am super excited to share with you such an easy and tasty recipe. THE RUB is a the perfect combination of flavors for a juicy steak. Notes of coffee, cocoa and pepper create the most amazing crust. Yummm... okay lets get into it!

First, I want to say that I am going to use a beef tenderloin for this recipe, but any cut of steak or pork will work. A pork tenderloin is just as delicious! I am a bug fan of tenderloins if you can tell. I used to cook individual steaks all the time but found that there was so much wasted meat on peoples plates by the end of dinner. With a tenderloin it's same cut of the cow as a filet mignon, and it also goes so much further when I slice it up and everyone just takes what they want. The leftover sliced meat also makes amazing steak sandwiches, if I'm lucky enough to have any leftovers.

This isn't a complicated recipe at all and is very easy for beginner grillers. The only necessity other than a meat is Mama J's THE RUB (pictured above). So grab your jar and let's get grilling!

THE RUB STEAK TENDERLOIN

Prep Time: 5 minutes    Cook Time: 25-40 minutes

  • Fire up your gas/charcoal/wood pellet grill to HI or set temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Right before placing the steak on the grill drizzle it with olive oil.
  • Drop that bad boy on the grill and cook to your liking. (refer above for cooking times and doneness)
  • When the desired cook has been reached pull off grill and wrap in foil.
  • Allow the steak to rest for 10 minutes before cutting. This allows the juices to rest and will make the meat even more tender.
  • Slice it up and enjoy!

You will really be impressed on how easy this is, and how you'll never need to go to a steak house again!
